Tattoo or tattow was originated in the 18th century from the Polynesian word tatau, meaning "correct, workmanlike". Before the importation of the Polynesian word, the practice of tattooing had been described in the West as pricking, painting, or staining.
The word
"tattoo" was brought to Europe by the explorer James Crook.
People who are jazzed up or highly interested by Tattoos
refer to them as "ink", "pieces", "skin
art", "tattoo art", "tats", or "work" and to
the creators as ''tattooists'' ''tattoo artist'' and to places where they work
as "tattoo shops", "tattoo studios", or "tattoo
parlors".
Tattoos
say everything you need to know about the society that births them and also
talks about their individual personality or cultural identity. They are lots of
reasons why people get tatted up. I will be discussing five main reasons. They
are;
1. To
identify themselves most people get tattooed to mark a significant aspect of
themselves or their life. Most people wants tattoo to remember some parts of
their life or their past life.
2. To
honor their loved ones. Many people honor their family and loved ones in a
tattoo design. Black and grey tattoos are most popular for honoring loved ones
in a realistic tattoo style. Guys do you know you can have the ashes of a
deceased's remains poured into your tattoo ink, and then inserted into your
skin? Ancient cultures have long carried the remains of their loved ones through
body ink.
3. People
also get tatted up for Style. Tattoos are also favored for making a fashion
statement. If you want to express your own unique and individual style any form
of body art or modification and adornments can help.

Another reason people may get tattooed is to cover up scar issues such as
opting for a breast tattoo post-mastectomy. This is also true of a deformity or
permanent handicap. For example, someone may lose their toe and decide to
tattoo something there. Adding a dose of humor to an unfortunate circumstance,
these types of tattoos can prove to be healing, especially when they help
improve the appearance of the body and boost confidence. While the reasons
people get tattooed are many, the end result is always the same. It's
permanent!
5. Of course
people wants to be tattooed up to make PROFIT. Although not nearly a
common reason for getting a tattoo, some people sell their bodies for prime
advertising space. These types of tattoos, while profitable, are also most
likely to end with regrets. Advice from me to you, think twice before you
sell your body to anyone.
